Team Brave’s football for women of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.

We believe that everyone has a right to access sport and be part of a team and community.

We launched our satellite sessions for women of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds, in order to provide a friendy, welcoming first step into trying football, getting active, feeling more confident and building new friendships.

We collaborate with Aidbox, a brilliant charity supporting refugees in Bristol. Together, we offer a safe space for women of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to feel welcome and safe to participate in football, and to reap all the benefits it can bring; physically, psychologically, emotionally & socially.

Refugees can face a plethora of challenges and barriers to accessing sport and feeling part of society, so we want to play a part in helping them, and bringing them fun and happiness every week!

Sessions are free and inclusive to total beginners: every Wednesday 10-11am at St Paul’s Community Sports Academy, Bristol. We also provide a free breakfast for participants from 9:45am. Please spread the word and invite anyone who might benefit from these sessions.
